The “Hendricks Light” painting by Master Artist J. Charles captures the Hendricks Head Lighthouse in Southport Maine overlooking the mouth of the Sheepscot River and Atlantic Ocean.
Built in 1875, the Hendricks Head Light stands 40 feet above the ground and beams a white light to the west and a red light to the east. This light station is the only Coast Guard-operated lighthouse in Maine that is privately owned.
